Times I Wanted to Use My Emergency Credit Card This Weekend

But I didn’t, because: self control (JK, I don’t have an emergency credit card anymore, are you kidding me)

• To buy a tent and sleeping bag so I could camp at the camping wedding (borrowed tent and sleeping bag from friends)

• To get a haircut before I left town to go to  the wedding (didn’t get haircut)

• To get my eyebrows threaded before I left town to go to the wedding (plucked own eyebrows)

• To buy a bus ticket to D.C. (got friend to buy bus ticket)

• To buy a sando and snacks from Pret to eat on the bus (ate a stale-but-free scone from falafel coffee space on the bus)

• To buy a burrito when I got off the boss because I was hungry and “deserved” it (didn’t buy burrito)

• To fill up my brother’s car before I drove it to the country (borrowed gas money from brother)

• To pay the approx. $10 in tolls that it took to drive to the country (used gas money from brother)

• To buy a flashlight (didn’t buy flashlight, okay as eyes adjusted to dark because that is what eyes do)

• To buy a new dress because I decided I didn’t like the one I brought to wear (wore dress, liked dress)

• To buy a new thing of lipstick to wear at the wedding because I didn’t like the ones I brought (wore someone else’s lipstick)

• To buy a new pair of shoes because I didn’t like the ones I brought (wore shoes, liked shoes, no one looks at your shoes)

• To buy a chicken sandwich from that Eating Establishment That Shall Not Be Named on the drive home because I really wanted one and I was hungry and also there is a clause that you can patronize a business that you otherwise have agreed not to patronize if it’s the only dining option off a highway in the country and also you are hungover (didn’t buy chicken sandwich)
