“I Don’t Say C’ELV, I Say FTS”

Rob Delaney does such great writing on depression and addiction. This in response to the death of Cory Monteith: “So when someone ODs or kills themselves or crashes a car and dies due to their alcohol/drug use, I don’t say ‘C’est la vie…,’ I say ‘Fuck that shit,’ and I circle the wagons with my other survivor friends and we go over the battle plans a FIVE-HUNDREDTH time, figure out where our dead friend that we love and mourn deviated, and we prepare to greet the coming day in a manner that will give something other than our addictions a fair shot at killing us.”

She Got Help And So Can You

Our pal Mitchell Sunderland interviewed Alexis Neiers—partial inspiration for Emma Watson’s character in the Bling Ring and it’s SOMETHING. She’s had an insane life, and it’s crazy to read the crazy parts, obviously (“My sister Tess and I just decided we wanted to start acting and modeling—not really to get famous, but to sustain my drug habit … I was smoking 20 80-mg oxys a day, I was doing tons of cocaine, I was panhandling for drugs. I had an over-$10,000-a-week drug habit”). Her rock bottom involved reality TV and jail and rehab, but she overcame and is doing well now. Impressive, inspiring.
